Registration gives organizers with a head count, which helps planning for the main event. The "will attend" logs at GC70041 don't tell us how many people are under 1 caching name, and not everyone who logs a "will attend" is actually going to show up.
Registration gets you a free program and a free personalized nametag for every person who registers.
Each person gets their own nametag! But you have to tell us how many you are.
For each person attending under the same cacher name, add 1 item to your cart (using the +/- buttons) with the geocaching name you want printed on the nametag.
Yes! Add a nametag/registration to your cart, specify "1" between the - and +, and enter the first cacher name.
After you've added this to the cart, go back to shopping, choose the nametag/registration again, add a new name and add "1" between the - and +. Adding this to your cart should give you 2 nametags for 2 different cacher names.
NS Geocaching is the host for many of the events. We are a registered non profit organization. Our only revenue is selling swag or raising money through grants and donations. The venue rentals and insurance are our biggest costs. Providing a memorable experience requires presentations, games, activities, food and drinks. A free BBQ on Sunday June 29th at Graves Island will be possible through donations, grants and fundraising.
A geocaching Mega includes something for everyone- from geocaching related presentations, games, food and refreshments (some free and some pay as you go). Sign in, visit the vendors , attend workshops or go caching on the nearby rail trail or local parks. Be sure to get your name in for prizes and raffles. A group picture will be taken between 3:30 -3:45 PM!
There are many satellite events (see Events). Every event will be unique so please read the cache page before attending as some have suggestions for things to bring or wear!
There are 3 hotels in Bridgewater holding blocks of rooms. For a list, as well as information about nearby campgrounds see Accommodations.
There are places in Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Chester and Liverpool on https://novascotia.com/ .
Some suggestions we've received include:
The Blarney Stone, right on the 103 Hwy, just outside Bridgewater,.
Waves for terrific seafood
Jac's Burgers and Shakes
Arby's
A program including a schedule for June 28th with sponsorship information will be included in swag bags or individually for those who register, either Friday evening or Saturday. We will post information and make announcements as it becomes available.
For anyone interested in bike rentals- The Municipality of Lunenburg sent this list:

Feel free to post on the MMVI Facebook page. Our first few events will be a great opportunity to meet other cachers and make plans.
Cachers are encouraged to carpool. Walking and cycling on rail trails or in the many parks is a great way to cache. Always remember to CITO!
As we make plans for the various events, we are attempting to minimize waste & use recyclable products. We ask that everyone bring their favourite reusable water bottle to fill instead of disposable plastic water bottles. We plan to have refill stations at events (where possible). We are planting at least one tree and maybe more!!
June in Nova Scotia is peak bug season- Blackflies, mosquitoes and ticks are popular here! Bring bug and tick spray- one of our presentations will be on tick safety!
Weather in June can range from cool and damp to hot and humid. Bring long lightweight pants & wear layers!! Rain gear and a wide brimmed hat will be useful. Nova Scotia has many well groomed trails while others are wet foot paths. You may encounter wet ditches or marshy ground. . Good waterproof hiking shoes will be an asset. A hiking stick and “Tools of the Trade” will be helpful!
PLEASE STAY OFF BLACK ROCKS in coastal areas as tides and waves can be unpredictable! You are never more than 30 mins from the coast!!
